Screen prints

Recently I bought myself a screen printing exposure unit to print on tshirts and totes and whatever else I want!
It's been quite fun getting used to it and I have a couple of fox and cat prints available on my etsy shop.
The last image shows something else I'm working on to print. I've ordered a bunch more tshirts and hopefully I'll have more available on my shop soon!

Nancy

Here's a portrait I did for a recent commission to paint my cute little Niece Nancy for my cousin's 30th birthday.
Hair is difficult to paint..... looks a little bit flat but I learned a lot painting it, and in future it's probably worth not trying to put so much detail into the hair.

I'M ALIVE

I promise!
I've not posted here for aaaaaages because my contract came to an end at Headstrong in London at the end of July, so before that I was crazy busy with art tests and started work at Rebellion games in Oxford in August, where I've been for just over a month now! So that move took quite a lot of my time too. I've started as a GUI artist which has been really great and a nice challenge to have a change in style (If you look up their past games it'll give you an idea of the kind of genre I'm working on).
Art Academy has since been released and has been doing well with a metacritic score of 8.0 and it's only just been released in America and will be released in Japan very very soon- where I'm sure It will also do well!
It's been quite exciting to see my first game published and to see it on TV, in stores and actually have the physical boxed copy has been really great!

Oxford is a bit of a change of pace from London but it's lovely and has some really cool museums and architecture.
This is on my cycle route to work:

I'll post up some work from Art academy and a couple of other bits and pieces from art tests I can show- quite a lot of it I can't as I signed NDA forms but never mind.
I've also started on some illustrations for an ex colleague that I can't show yet but I'll post stuff here when I can :)

I've spent a little more time modelling my house illustration and it's coming along. I feel like I'm learning a lot which is good!

Clockwork Ballroom

Hello! Here's my piece for topic 2: clockwork ballroom over at www.theclockworkballroom.tumblr.com and www.facebook.com/TheClockworkBallroom
I was working on a full room but realised it probably would work better as a crop as you can see above!

Alter Ego

My piece for the first topic for The Clockwork Ballroom: Alter ego. Josh and I set it up and there's loads of great pieces already!
You can check it out here

and here

My piece is a tribute to the film Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain. Since I first saw the film many years ago it’s always been my favorite perhaps because I relate to the main character more so than any other fictional character.

Bugs!

Hello! Not updated for ages, oops!
An speedy illustration commission of mine for a light stand for Testronics QA company for social gaming. The photos of the light stand aren’t great though as they’re just with my phone, it’s just over 2 metres tall so was a pretty big image to work on. Not the greatest illustration ever as they needed a quick turnaround but it was fun nonetheless!
The idea was that as a QA company they find bugs in games, so it’s a line up of caught bugs- hence instead of heights there’s bug (error) classes!

Kuju Christmas cards 2011

I was asked to do the christmas cards for Kuju entertainment, which is the umbrella company for Headstrong Games where I work. These were the 2 final images I made and in the end they went with the baubles, although that was the font they wanted to use, I think I would have changed it myself!

That one wasn't the complete final snowflake though especially as there are white artifacts around the circle in the animation,in the end it was made square but I dont have an animated one for that but see below.

Daily Pattern- Maths!

Maths (or Math for all you American's!) was always probably the most boring subject at school for me. I could do it without a problem but maaaaan ! Snore! Triangles just make me think of Pythagoras' theorem or Trigonometry, but really, when were we ever going to use this in everyday life?
I've already forgotten the majority of it!
Here's a lunch time speedy of a prettier version of maths triangles!
